Chaweng Beach

Chaweng Beach remains the most beautiful on the island. Wandering down from your coconut palm-shaded hut to the white-dust sand to the crystal clear water is an unforgettable experience.

It's just a shame that today you have such a short window of opportunity to enjoy it - between sunrise and 7am, at the most. After that the deckchairs, vendors, masseurs, jet-skis and other noisy stuff begin their parade and within a few hours, it's a mess. Of course, if you like all that hustle and bustle, you'll love Chaweng. more...

Danger! beware of Drowning at the Sea

Most tourist drownings in Thailand involve people caught in RIP CURRENTS on popular beaches. Phuket and big Ko Chang have the worst records, but rip currents can occur anywhere there is a surf running.

All that water heading beachwards has to get back out to sea somehow, and that is the rip current. Waves in Thailand are more a wet season thing, during and after periods of prolonged strong winds. Waves are absent to very small 99% of dry season.

Inexperienced people finding themselves shooting out to sea in a rip current try to swim against it, get exhausted, take in water, and drown. more...

Bellini Restaurant Recommendation

In Italy, love of food and wine is synonymous with life itself. In Samui we are keeping with tradition, we believe we have created the perfect marriage of great food and fine wine.

Our restaurant takes the cooking process back to a more simple, rustic era. Like traditional Italian cooking, we use only the finest quality, fresh ingredients to lend character and uniqueness to our dishes. Chef Francesco though that the Italian cuisine and fun atmosphere of Thailand were a perfect match for Koh Samui.

Every Saturday Party at Monkey Bay!

Every Saturday is Party @ Monkey Bay with special Dj`s. The Party starts 2 pm till late. This is definitely a Saturday Night recommendation!

Poppies Boutique Resort

A tiny magical oasis of tropical enchantment, Poppies Samui lies on a pristine white sandy beach in the Gulf of Siam. Located at the south end of renowned Chaweng beach, well away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort area, Poppies has earned its reputation, since opening in 1994, Poppies has earned its reputation as Koh Samui's most exclusive "boutique hideaway". Poppies Samui offers the same tranquillity as its famous namesake in Bali.

Just 24 luxuriously appointed Thai style cottages hide amid the greenery, each offering privacy from the others, and each surrounded by colourful and exotic gardens with meandering paths, bubbling streams, fishponds, teak bridges and waterfalls.

A crystal clear free form swimming pool with natural rock formations, and a sparkling jacuzzi lie between the gardens and the sea.

Poppies restaurant is now firmly established as the leading restaurant on the island, where you can dine under the stars overlooking the beach or in the magnificent Ayuthaya-style teak pavilion beside the pool. Samui Mostwanted Hotel recommendation.

Chez Andy's Steakhouse and Swiss Restaurant with Australian prime steaks, International cuisine, wines and spirits. The meeting point for beer and BBQ lovers with daily BBQ buffet and draught beer.

Chez Andy's Beer & Grill Garden is an open, spacious area and ideal for families with children. Shielded from the road by the main restaurant building it is also very quiet and safe for the younger guests. The 12-year olds and younger will even eat for half the price.

Diners at the Beer & Grill Garden have a choice from the same menu as the main restaurant or choose from the barbeque buffet with beef tenderloin, pork steaks, marinated spare ribs, chicken breasts, shish kebabs, sausages, salads, fish, seafood, and a fantastic variety of vegetables. Unspoiled ‘nook’ high up on Samui’s mountain

IF you are looking for a place on Samui to relax, close to nature, Paradise Park Farm should be your destination. It is on Samui’s highest mountain, Khao Pom, within a tropical rainforest.

Paradise Park Farm, in Tailing Ngam subdistrict, sits on a beautifully preserved verdant forest. Developed over four years, originally as a bird zoo with hundreds of bird species including parrots, love birds, parakeets and macaws, Paradise Park Farm is home to Molly and Mommaem, two parrots that can talk to visitors in both Thai and English.

They are popular especially to children, who love to have their pictures taken with these colorful characters. Because the Paradise Park Farm covers a very large and unspoiled area measuring 50 rai (20 acres), animals enjoy a comfortable life in a natural and spacious habitat.

They all live in different zones around the site, connected by pleasant walking trails with resting areas to sit and enjoy nature’s beauty and the spectacular views of Koh Samui and the surrounding islands. The staffs at Paradise Park Farm all live on site and are up every morning to feed the animals and clean their enclosures.

A veterinarian comes weekly, and officials from the forest department visit occasionally, to check on the health and well-being of the animals. The friendly tour guides in the park are pleased to give you information and fill you in on the habits and unique characteristics of the animals.

During the day the animals are let out, and you can pet or feed them if you like. Of course, the Paradise Park Farm does not forget to feed its guests, too. There is a nice restaurant in the park serving tasty Thai and European dishes, which you can relish while being awed by the magnificent mountain views.

While Koh Samui can be very hot, at Khao Pom the temperature in the Paradise Park Farm is cool. You can spend the entire day relaxing. For just Bt300 you can spend the night in a tent in the wilds, feeling secure with the park’s 24-hour security.

There is an infinity swimming pool overlooking the area from which you can take in the panoramic view of Koh Samui and its sister island Koh Phangan, set in the blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand. As the sun sets and the stars come out, there is no better place on the island to gaze at the night sky through the clean, crisp air of Khao Pom. Before leaving Paradise Park Farm, you may drop by the souvenir shop near the restaurant and the orchid farm.

It sells a range of exotic plants and flowers. Paradise Park Farm accepts visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shuttle service is provided at a fair price. Entrance fee is Bt300 per adult, Bt100 per child over 4 years old.

News - Full Moon Party Koh Phangan

Full Moon Party Koh Phangan – since more than 20 years the monthly top event at world on famous Haad Rin beach at the south coast of Koh Pha-Ngan Paradise Island.

After 20 years of being free of entrance charge the Haadrin Business Association, locally better known as Haadrin Business Asscosiation, finally decided to enforce an original Koh Phangan Full Moon Party Ticket for EVERY tourist arriving at Hadrin beach during the Full Moon Party night.

A few days prior to the Full Moon Party in December 12th 2008 the Haadrin Business Asscosiation published an official statement regarding the Full Moon Party issue to all the resorts on Koh Pha-Ngan Island.

A rough translation of the official statement announces the following:

Because of the massive problems caused by the Full Moon Party, like drug abuse, environmental pollution, security issues and today’s society the Haadrin Business Asscosiation finally decided to charge a Full Moon Party entrance fee for every tourist.

These problems mainly relate to Haad Rin beach area only and the money from local businesses is currently not enough to cover the costs of fixing these issues. Therefore the Had Rin Business Asscosiation unfortunately sees no other way as to charge a 100 THB only entrance fee to every person visiting the world famous Full Moon Party at Haadrin Beach Koh Pha-Ngan.

Every tourist will be issued with a wrist band as proof of paid entry to Haad Rin Beach. The money we collect from the Full Moon Party visitors will help correct these problems and we sincerely apologize for any problems this may cause other Thai businesses on the island and also the tourist.

Q Bar - Nightclub Recommendation

The Q Bar Samui is one of the most famous nightclub in Thailand. It is wellknown for its great food, drink, and lively bar scene, where locals and visitors come to drink and have a great time.

Update: Q Bar has changed the Owner and is not anymore like the famous Q Bar in Bangkok. There are very few customers I have been there about 10 times and I will not go there anymore. I can recommend you Blackmoon Party or Escape Party instead.
